… How I started and stay with the recorder.
My very first encounter with the recorder goes back to the time as a 6-year-old, who always wanted to play the same stuff as the cousins did. It all started with testing the sound with all kinds of finger combinations I could find out and playing tunes that were familiar to me on my aulos plastic recorder; luckily, this joy of searching has never stopped since then.
Having studied the recorder in Hamburg, Leuven (Belgium), Amsterdam and Trossingen, I am currently based in Hamburg again as a professional recorder player and teacher. So far I have traveled with my recorders and shared my musical passion in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hong-Kong, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Taiwan. The music has already brought me to many different, fascinating corners of the world and I am very much looking forward to the upcoming adventures.
Between 2017 and 2020, I was member of the renowned recorder quartet i Flautisti – The London Recorder Quartet and in 2018, I won the first prize of the International Recorder Competition Nordhorn, which has contributed to the production of my solo debut CD “Showcase” (SAMCD048).
